Journeyman Technician Job Description – Zabor Automotive

As an Automotive Technician at Zabor Auto, you’ll work with a variety of vehicle makes and models, including foreign, domestic, and European brands, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, tires, suspension, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, and more.
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and wheel alignments.
• Conduct thorough and timely repairs while maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate with other team members, including technicians and service advisors, to meet daily goals.
• Road-test vehicles to identify customer concerns and verify the success of repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Assist with other shop duties, including equipment maintenance.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience as an automotive technician, gained through formal education in Automotive Technology or on-the-job training. ASE certifications are highly desirable.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions, whether written or oral.
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Good or correctable vision and no known allergies to industrial chemicals used in the shop.
• Willingness to participate in safety training programs, including understanding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
