Automotive Service Advisor Job Description

As a Service Advisor at Zabor Automotive, you will be the first and last person to interact with our customers. Your ability to build trust, provide transparent communication, and deliver outstanding customer service is essential in shaping the customer’s perception of Zabor Auto as a reliable and community-focused repair shop.

In this role, you will manage the customer’s journey from start to finish, ensuring their concerns are documented accurately and that our technicians are equipped to provide the best possible solutions. You will also keep customers informed throughout the repair process, creating a seamless and positive experience.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for Zabor Auto’s customers, from initial greeting to vehicle pickup.
• Write detailed repair orders that capture customer concerns and relay accurate information to technicians.
• Maintain communication with customers, providing updates and explanations about their vehicle’s repair status.
• Collaborate with the technicians to determine appropriate repairs and estimate parts and labor costs.
• Use Tekmetric software for repair order management and communication with the accounting team.
• Manage parts ordering and returns as well as account payable and receivable for all orders.
• Promote teamwork by working alongside technicians and management to meet daily goals.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management or owner.

• Assist with training and guide team members as needed.
• Deliver the highest quality service to all of our customers.
• Support quality improvement processes to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience as an automotive service advisor is appreciated but not required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Willingness to participate in training programs and follow workplace safety protocols.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools and automotive repair software is a plus.
